For those of you that want to enter the wonderous world of programming, here is a good start. C# For Dummies is based on the C# programming language and the Visual Studio 2005 suite. So make sure you have your hands on it before begininng.

NB: Your programs will require the .NET Framework to run on computers that do not already have it installed. The .NET Framwork is by default installed on computers with the latest Windows Updates and if you have the Visual Studio 2005 suite or later installed.
